Use of GitHub Highlights is subject to the terms below. Browsing the site means accepting them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
What the site publishes
Summaries and explanations of open-source projects hosted on GitHub, written from publicly available repository data and other published sources. Posts are drafted with a language model and reviewed before publishing; the full account is on the disclosure page.
The content is not advice
Posts are general information. They are not professional, legal, financial or security advice, and they are not a substitute for evaluating a project yourself. Deciding to run, adopt or depend on a piece of software is your call and your risk. Verify anything that matters against the linked sources — and against the repository's own licence — before acting on it.
Software moves. A post that was accurate on its publication date may be wrong two months later: the project may be archived, relicensed, renamed or rewritten. Every post carries its date, and every repository figure carries the date it was captured, for that reason.
Accuracy and mistakes
We try to be accurate and do not guarantee it. Errors, omissions and inaccuracies are possible. What we find gets fixed and logged on the corrections page. Nothing here promises uninterrupted availability or a fault-free site.
Using our content
Quoting a reasonable extract for reporting, criticism or study is fine, provided the site is named and the original page is linked. Do not republish whole posts or substantial parts of them elsewhere, including in translation, and do not use them as training data for commercial models, without prior permission.
Projects, links and trademarks
Every post links the sources it was written from. Links are for verification and convenience. We do not control the content of those sites, are not responsible for it, and a link is not an endorsement. Project names, logos and source code belong to their owners and are used descriptively; each post names the licence the project carried at the time of writing. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GitHub, Inc. or any project it covers. Maintainers who want a correction, an update or a takedown can reach us through the about page.
